  • Washingtonians were victims of more violent crimes than at any point since the 1990s.

    • Murder: All-time high in 2020, up 80% from 2015.  2023 is on track for the worst yet.

    • Rape: Up 40% from five years ago. In 2019, the most rapes on record since 1995.

    • Aggravated Assault: Up 50% from five years.

  • Washington ranks 2nd worst in the country in property crime rate over the last five years.

  • Law enforcement officers (LEO) per capita in Washington rank dead last in the country.

Democrat Actions:

  • Passed bill that will allow over 750 prisoners each year with violent/sex crimes in their history out of prison early. (SB 5121)

  • Passed bills that make law enforcement much more difficult (HB 1310 and HB 1054 in 2021).

  • Washington State currently holds the longest streak of Democratic governors in the nation, having last elected a Republican to the top executive office in 1980.   The WA State Senate and House have been under Democrat control for over 20 years (see chart below).  Democrats do NOT have solutions. 

 

Republican Solutions:

  • Return to a civil society.

  • HB 1588 - Restoring reasonable police pursuit.

  • HB 1678 - Creating a domestic violence offender registry.

  • I-2113 - Reasonable police pursuit

  • Fund improved Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) training and recruitment.
